Some people progress through (small to medium) group classes, while others progress through private lessons; the same curriculum, the same dance skills, and the same successful results.
There are two types of private lessons:
- Individual Technique for women, usually taught by Francesca.
- Partner Technique (women dancing solo / couples), usually taught by Eugen. These lessons include elements of individual technique, musicality, non-contact and contact work, as well as improvised dancing using the elements studied.
Teaching is completely personalized according to the participants’ needs and goals, while still following the international method we use.
The prices of private lessons vary depending on the level being taught:
Introduction and Beginners: 35euros/ 60 min
Improvers & Intermediate: 50euros/ 60 min
Advanced & Instructors: 70euros/ 60 min
Private lessons are available by prior appointment, depending on the availability of everyone involved.
Curriculum for Each Level
This is a very general, incomplete, list.
Introduction (Level 0): general concepts about dance and music, brief history, key concepts of leading and following in real time, an overview of our teaching method and its specific approach.
Beginners (Level 1): axis, posture, positioning (face-to-face), types of steps, pivots, lanes, walking systems, movement systems, simple step combinations, basic musicality (accents), introduction to verticality levels, simple improvisation.
Improvers (Level 2): elements specific to Argentine Tango (paradas, barridas, sacadas, boleos, ganchos), adornos, additional positions (doble frente, perpendicular), introduction to milonga and vals, introduction to the close embrace (lines), social etiquette at dance events, specific musicality (rhythm vs. melody, melodic lines, doble tiempo), real-time improvisation using the elements studied, rueda de tango.
Intermediate (Level 3): various elements (llevadas, colgadas, volcadas, agarre, etc.), close embrace (rotations), atypical rotations, milonga (lisa & traspie), vals, specific musicality (syncopations, arrastre, fraseo, habanera, orchestras, etc.), cyclical improvisation.
Advanced (Level 4): various elements (boleos colgados, pulpeados, etc.), advanced musicality (332, bordoneo, tresillo, cinquillo, orchestras, etc.), special dynamics, atypical transitions, advanced rotations, pirouettes, lifts, jumps, power improvisation, etc.
